All computers in this lab have Native Access installed (the Native Instruments installer) and then several different instruments/effects/etc such as Kontakt, Reaktor, Guitar Rig, etc. I'm doing some tests in Composer with various packages for a few different audio plugins, including Native Instruments. LOL.I did a search and found a couple of scripts, but they look like they're older threads so I figured I'd ask again. I've been dreading calling them because unlike NI, it can take up to an hour or longer to even get through. Now I need to call Cakewalk Tech Support for an AudioSnap issue and then report back to another thread I made. I've been having one issue or another here lately. The Service Center needed to be removed, then reinstalled from their website in order to Activate the software. The problem there, was that the service center was glitched due to some out of date time code embedded in Service Center. I called NI Tech Support 2 weeks ago because it wouldn't let me activate Guitar Rig 3. I just wish I could stop being in the minority when it comes to these downloads and updates. By installing it from NI's website, it should go through according to the technician.Īnyway, thanks for all the insightful posts regarding my issue. He did iterate what some of you have posted, which was that I only need those drivers if I'm using NI hardware same thing with the controller.Īs for the update, I will need to go download it from their website, because mine is still saying 4.7, even though I've downloaded it 3 times so far. What the guy told me was that some users have been reporting that they "must" choose 1 of 3 drivers listed in order to proceed through the installation process (it so happens I'm one of those few unfortunately for me again huh?). I just got off the phone with NI Tech Support. However, what you say about the drivers is correct. ![]() Just use GR3 LE for small less processor intensive setups like a rhythm guitar.Īctually, the above's not quite true- you have to install the standalone and run it at least once otherwise, the odds are good that the plugin won't initialize correctly. ![]() They can exist together and the | Upgrade | button is useless because you don't want to upgrade to GR3 full. I also leave GR3 LE on there just for a simple Fender Twin sound. Just have some patience and eventually you'll learn the rest on your own. It's all good, by installing everything you won't break it. You also don't need to install the RTAS version unless you have ProTools or on the MAC you can choose to installs it as a VST and/or an AU plugin. Rig Kontrol sends data to GR4 in its own language so if you want the Rig Kontrol to trigger any other software (such as Play on the SONAR transport or Amplitube) you need to install Controller Editor to send data as MIDI instead.Īs CJ said, since you only have the VST you don't need to install any drivers. I just unselected the other two.Ĭontroller Editor allows you to choose the MIDI output for Rig Kontrol to allow it to work as a MIDI controller. I have Rig Kontrol so I like that GR came with drivers. If you have a Rig Kontrol, Session I/O, or GR Mobile USB interface then you want to pick one of the correct drivers. To confirm what others have said, you don't need to install any of the drivers NOR the Controller Editor. There must be a glitch happening with this, because I shouldn't have to keep re-downloading this update. ![]() I have downloaded it 4 times now, but it still prompts me every time to do so. I clicked on driver options and that's when I discovered that I could choose either my MOTU drivers, or the Session I/O driver (this is in response to my second post).Īs for 4.08, I keep getting prompted over and over again to download it in the Service Center. I closed everything out and opened Guitar Rig 4 again, but forgot to boot up my MOTU, and that's when I discovered the window that popped up saying that my MOTU drivers weren't running, and then a window popped up with option settings. When I go into my programs, and click on Native Instruments, then Guitar Rig 4, I now see the driver I picked to install during download (Session I/O driver). ![]() All I know is that during download of Guitar Rig 4, it asked me to pick a driver to install it prompted me to choose 1 out of the 3 aforementioned drivers. I'm using a MOTU Ultralight mk3 hybrid (Firewire/USB 2) external sound card. I've never used it but I think it's just for the hardware. Still kinda confused here.Ĥ.08 is the latest version, so it's natural to ask that.Ĭontroller editor. Drivers? Are you using an NI audio divice? (did I miss that?) Though I have to say that if you have the floorboard I'm gonna guess the I/O driver as GR mobile is a completely different unit.
